![]() Still got Fallout-related questions? Our man Dave Irwin assembled this handy Wot-We-Know guide shortly before dying from radiation exposure. You can find it on Bethesda's own store for £50/€60/$60. Fallout: New California, arguably Fallout: New Vegas's biggest and most ambitious mod, is still due for release on October 23rd, bringing a whole mess of new locations, characters and explosions to Obsidian's wasteland.įallout 76 launches on November 14th, and the pre-order beta opens its vault doors on October 30th. Fortunately, for those of us wishing for a more story-driven Fallout adventure, we won't even have to wait until the 30th. The beta will only be available for those buying from certain Bethesda-approved stores ( as listed here), or just direct from Bethesda themselves.Īs interesting as Fallout 76 is, I'm not an especially social sort, so probably won't be diving into this one at launch. The beta starts on October 23 on Xbox One, and PC and PS4 players get access a week later on October 30. Right now it's not available for pre-load, but Bethesda should be providing the option in the run-up to launch. Maybe we can finally figure out what this game is. Like usual for this beta, it will be in a timed-manner, requiring you to play when the. The beta will be a honking great 45 gigabyte download, which you'll be pulling from the digital ether via the Bethesda Launcher, which you can find at the bottom of the FAQ. Bethesda has announced the final B.E.T.A session for their upcoming open-world multiplayer title, Fallout 76. Instead, they'll be stress-testing in limited sessions at peak times to see how well the game's servers will stand up to the launch-day crush. While the beta version will effectively be the full game and Bethesda hope to carry early saves over to launch, the testing servers won't be up 24/7. The beta roll-out is a little more complicated than you might think, so check out Bethesda's official FAQ page here for details. The cutely-acronymed 'Break-it Early Test Application' starts a week earlier for Xbox people, as Microsoft have apparently forsaken us. Below, Fallout 76's intro doing double duty as a new trailer. Expect bugs, server issues and occasional nuclear explosions - par for any beta, really. Those who pre-ordered Bethesda's multiplayer spinoff Fallout 76 on PC (or PS4), can dive into post-apocalyptic West Virginia on October 30th, two weeks ahead of its November 14th launch date. All of these interactions are still possible in Fallout 76, but now, behind all of them, will be real humans players just like you.The radioactive wasteland of any Fallout game is a dangerous place, and twice as deadly for those who go in early. Just like in Fallout 4, strange scavengers might attack you, a mysterious merchant might sell you something, or a brave companion might lend you a hand in defeating a mutated monstrosity. In Fallout 76 you (or one of the other players that populate your world) have the power to launch some of the same nuclear weapons that caused the devastation of the world… so try and be nice.Fallout 76 has an in-game map that’s four times bigger than Fallout 4! This is truly one of Bethesda’s most ambitious games ever. Bethesda released new details pertaining to Fallout 76s next update this week to give players an idea of when the next patch will be released and whatll be included. What makes Fallout 76 so special is that it incorporates online multiplayer for the first time in the franchise’s more than 20 year history.Everything you loved about Fallout 4 is even better in Fallout 76: the quests, the crafting, the base building, and of course the multiplayer experience. There have been performance problems, crashes, freezing, endless loading screen and different errors. While some players have been able to get into the game a lot of people are already complaining about it not working properly, and having issues. ![]() The first Beta session will be available only from 7PM ET until 11 PM ET. ![]()
![]() Accordance has various collections (beginning with the basic Starter Collection at $49.99), which you can compare here. ![]() You can also purchase add-on modules in BibleWorks. But this really doesn’t matter if you wouldn’t buy many of those resources in the first place (per point #1 above).īibleWorks does not have packages, per se–it’s just the program and all its contents for $359. You should actually probably do this before you check out the individual programs a whole lot–just to make sure you don’t end up spending money you don’t really have! Sometimes you’ll see a price tag associated with how much a base package would cost you if you bought all the resources in print. I noted in a Logos review recently how I was working in Logos 5 on a PC, then the next day opened Logos on my Mac to the exact same window I had just closed on a PC the day before. However, being able to switch between a PC and a Mac in Logos and have everything sync via the cloud is a great feature. Logos for the Mac feels fairly Mac-like, but not to the extent that Accordance does. ![]() It’s also cloud-based, so that you can sync your work in Logos across computers, platforms, mobile devices, on the Internet using Biblia, and so on. If I had an iPhone, that would definitely be on there. It looks like a stripped-down version of Accordance, but it’s free. Accordance also has an iOS app, which I haven’t used, as I do not own an iPhone, iPad, iOverbrain, etc. It is very Mac-like, which is a goal and priority of Accordance. (I understand that you can run Accordance on Windows now via an emulator, per the above link, but that it’s not 100% functional in the same way Accordance on Mac is.) Accordance is silky smooth–if I may call a Bible software program that. They have announced that they’ll introduce Accordance for Windows in 2013, and they have said that they are previewing that at SBL/AAR this week. It’s excellent on a PC, though.Īccordance is a Mac program. I can’t yet recommend the latter option, where it is in “ Public Preview,” since the “native” Mac version looks only native to about two Mac operating systems ago… I expect BibleWorks will make improvements here, but I haven’t found BibleWorks on my Mac to be as functional as I’d like. The former option is costly and requires a lot of your Mac machine (though you get a fully-functinoing BibleWorks on a Mac that way). This either requires a separate Windows license (= more $$), where it runs nicely in Parallels, etc., or you can use a “native” Mac version of it. In these reviews I look at multiple features and resources in each program.īibleWorks is a PC program. You can also look through the full reviews I’ve done of BibleWorks here, Accordance here, and Logos here (v.4) and here (just-released v. Look through those sites for videos which will let you see the programs in action. Get a sense of what each can do by visiting their respective Websites (BibleWorks here, Accordance here, and Logos here). Explore BibleWorks, Accordance, and Logos on their own merits. It depends on why and for what you want Bible software. I highlight these considerations because the answer to the question, “Which Bible software program should I buy?” is: It depends. Similarly, are there things you know you don’t need? Are you interested only in studying the Bible in English (or Spanish, or French…) but not necessarily in Greek and Hebrew? Are maps and graphics something you can easily access elsewhere? Is having a large library of electronic commentaries not a value? I don’t mean in an existential sense I mean: for what do you want to use Bible software? Personal Bible study? As a means to access electronic commentaries for sermon preparation? To do in-depth word studies in the original languages? To compare the Greek and the Hebrew texts of the Old Testament? For complex syntactical searches? To help generate graphics and handouts for a Sunday School class you teach? Some or all of the above? Think through why you want the Bible software. If you’re in the market to buy Bible software, then, here’s how I recommend proceeding.ġ. There are some free programs available for download ( E-Sword, for example), but my sense has been that if you want to have something in-depth, you’ll probably want to consider BibleWorks, Accordance, and Logos. Having now reviewed BibleWorks 9 ( here), Accordance 10 ( here) and Logos 4 ( here) and now 5 ( here), I want to compare the three programs and offer some suggestions for moving forward with Bible software. Which Bible software program should I buy? It’s an important question for the student of the Bible, especially if she or he is on a limited budget. ![]() Auto-run will apparently not count towards activity and will still get you kicked, as the game seemingly only takes physical key inputs into account. This very technical method of staying in the server while you leave your PC involves putting something heavy on the W key so you keep manually moving forward. Some are reporting wait times of over three hours, so it's understandable that they won't want to give up their spot for the sake of making a sandwich.įinally got to log on to see this.no F'n wonder queues suck from However, as others elaborated in the replies, players are likely doing this so they are not kicked for inactivity when they need to put the game down for a bit. But god, I'd play a lot more GTAO if it didn't take so long to start that I potter about the flat doing chores while I wait, only to end up getting kicked for being AFK because I miss when loading finally finishes. A "Huh, wouldn't have guessed that!" The post is an interesting read, too. I want to believe.īut at the very least, I am glad to have my curiosity satisfied with some sort of answer to what it's actually doing all that time. While player-made fixes and patches have rescued many games (here's lookin' at you, Bloodlines), they can also misunderstand issues, as we've seen in cases like Dark Souls 3's poise system and Cyberpunk 2077's memory budgets. And if this is the issue, there could be some technical or security issue which didn't become evident in t0st's testing or. This is all gleaned from one person's account of reverse-engineering code which they admit they don't fully understand. I would be surprised if the game did have two weird technical blunders which have caused problems for so many players so many years without Rockstar realising (centuries of communal human lives spent waiting!), but quite delighted at the prospect that it could be fixed. ![]() At the end, their load times came down from 6:00 to 1:50 - an improvement of 70%. So they wrote a doodad to inject their own code into the process, replacing some functions with ones they thought would be faster. And they think the way the game does it is very inefficient, and that it checks things they think it doesn't need to check. They believe the bulk of the load time was going on parsing a JSON data file, processing and checking over 63,000 item and upgrade entries. ![]() T0st reports digging into a CPU bottleneck on the loading process with a disassembler to figure out what was going on. They started out with load times of 1:10 to get into Story mode, and 6:00 for Online - about what I often see myself, I reckon. The Scene presets consist of Flash off, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Sports, Sunset and Night Portrait. This dial offers the usual P, A, S and M modes, along with direct access to seven scene presets and a fully Automatic ‘green’ mode. In terms of controls, Sony’s departed from its debut Alpha A100 (and its Konica Minolta inheritance) by equipping the A350 with just one dial, located on the upper left side as you hold the camera – this is where the A100’s function dial could be found. We’d put it in the same league as the Canon EOS 400D / XTi and the new 450D / XSi. In terms of build quality, the A350 feels very solid, but also has the plasticky appearance you’d expect from an entry-level model. As always though we’d recommend you pick up your short-listed cameras for yourself to see which looks and feels best in your own hands. The A350’s larger dimensions do however give you slightly more to hold onto, with the new Sony sporting a deeper grip complete with an indented area for your middle finger and a reasonable amount of space between it and the lens mount to avoid pinching of your finger-tips. ![]() It’s interesting to see Sony go for a slightly larger and noticeably heavier body, although technically speaking it also has to accommodate a sensor-shift anti-shake mechanism in addition to the tilting screen. This makes it several mm larger than the Canon EOS 450D / XSi and just over 100g heavier for the body alone fit their respective batteries and kit lenses, and this weight difference roughly doubles. The A350 measures 131x99x75mm which makes it the same width and height as the Alpha A200, but 4mm thicker as you’d expect to accommodate the tilting screen at 582g for the body alone, it also weigh 50g more. We’ve pictured the A350 above, alongside what’s likely to be its biggest rival, the Canon EOS 450D / Rebel XSi. So viewed from the front, only the badges can really tell Sony’s latest three DSLRs apart. The Alpha A300 looks identical to the A350 from the outside other than the labelling. ![]() Stand both models side-by-side though and you’ll also notice the A350 has a differently-styled grip, a slightly different finish, and two additional controls dedicated to Live View but otherwise that’s it. The Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 shares essentially the same body design as the entry-level A200, with the only major difference being the tiltable screen on the back. ![]() Find the extension that you want to uninstall.ĥ. In Sonic 4 he takes a while to get his momentum going. In the original game, as soon as you pushed right, Sonic shot off. It’s the fact that he takes a while to get up to that speed.
