Tune to Lily's frequency and follow her, picking up the herb after finding the blood stain. Go across the street and search the garbage can for gunpowder, then enter the shed for supplies. Take the herbs, supplies, and gunpowder from the corpse along the way before returning to the street, where you can pick up shotgun shells from a body and use a Shock bolt to pen the garage door. Return outside, examine the dumpster, then go as far right as you can before proceeding downhill. Go around the back and shoot down the key up here before moving to the front and doing the story objective. Jump off from the balcony to the left, collecting the herb along the way after hitting the ground.Ĭontinue left, wrapping around the house to the right and ascending the hill to the gas station. Once you cross the street, go around the side of the manor house and climb the ladder to get the ammo pouch and supplies from the balcony. Run to the side of the house and crouch down before moving right, crossing the street to pass the Hysteria and lose the Lost trailing you. On a tree stump you'll find shotgun shells, pick them up and then run like hell to the end of the field again. Keep going left, smashing all the crates and taking the supplies from the garage here before backtracking into the field. Take the supplies from in here before exiting and going left into the field. Enter it, running up to the body and spamming to sneak kill it before you get noticed. Go back down the ladder and through the alley, going to the right of the park path and continuing straight until you see a garage on the left. Sneak kill the Lost up here before taking the broken sniper rifle and some supplies. Make your way back to the visitor center, taking the herb and gunpowder inside before going down the alley next to it, up the stairs, and onto the roof. After taking the crossbow move back the way you came, avoiding the Lost congregating around you and running if you get spotted. Take any bottles or gunpowder along the way. Cross the street and start going down to the APC and crossbow. Take the key from the bench across from the safehouse, then check under the van in front of it for more gunpowder. Start off by going to the right of the church, taking the axe from the corpses and the gunpowder from under the car. None of the sidequests will be finished, very few collectibles will be acquired, and scavenging for gunpowder will be the primary goal. Significant changes will be taking place here compared to when you ran through previously. Make sure to collect herbs after watching O'Neal run into the safehouse, it might also be worth it to kill all 3 Lost in this area so you can break the car window for extra gunpowder early on.Ĭhapter 3 - I CAN SHOW YOU THE (OPEN) WORLD Here's a great guide showing some safe and effective strategies and routes throughout the whole game: Running and stealth will be your primary tactics throughout your playthrough, try your best to not get into any unnecessary combat scenarios. Gunpowder and crafting supplies will be at the very top of your priority list since ammo will be incredibly scarce and shots will be pretty weak. You'll be getting a fair amount of keys but also skipping the ones that put you in direct danger, like the one in the church in Chapter 3. I'd recommend you use all 7 saves, and I'll specify when and where. Throughout the whole thing you'll find crafting supplies and gunpowder in the same places, with enemy spawn patterns being the same as well. With that said, the techniques for getting through a lot of the earlier game are exactly the same. You are only allowed 7 manual saves total, auto-saves are totally disabled, there are no weapon or ability upgrades and the difficulty is set to Nightmare.
